Best gift 'Santa' has ever brought
The Playmobil Hospital has been a big hit in our house, my 4 yr old loves it and it's one of the few toys which I actually enjoy playing with too. It does take absolutely ages to build though (2/3 hrs without interruption, all of Christmas day with little people trying to help and Christmas dinner to prepare) but building it is quite enjoyable.
Leave Plenty of Time for Assembly!
I bought this for my daughter's Chritsmas. Thinking that I'd have no problem getting this assembled (2 hours according to the packaging) only when I opened the box did my heart sink.

<br />Judging by the size of the box, I assumed (foolishly) that at least the floors were already put together and the walls just needed slotting together.......nope, nothing was pre-assembled. From the floors and walls, to the plant pot on the receptionist desk, it ALL has to be assembled.

<br />Once complete, it is great. Some of the smaller parts come apart reasonably easy, but it isn't too much of a bother. Agree with another reviewer that the clown is a little disconcerting! My daughter hasn't stopped playing with it yet. She loves it. She's played with that more than any other toy from Santa so far!

<br />BTW, it took me nearly four hours to complete!!!
Classic playmobil
We have just bought my 51/2 year old daughter this for Christmas (not off Amazon admittedly)and I am very impressed with the sturdiness and the detail. It has lots of accessories - although this set is definitely something that needs to be kept out of the way of tots as it has lots of tiny pieces. My daughter is already playing with it quite a bit - acting out Holby City I think!
<br />The only downsides are the number of tiny pieces - we will be very lucky to keep tabs on all of them and the phenomenal amount of time it takes to put together. This was from Father Christmas so it was difficult to put together before hand - we told her that he was too busy to assemble toys. Too right - he would have been there till New Year! My husband - who is brilliant at any sort of DIY etc gave up after 2 hours at which point he had only succeeded in putting together the base and a couple of walls. It then took my 13 year old son a further 4 hours to assemble the rest of the building and then I spent at least an hour the day after putting together all the accessories. However, as long as you are aware of this I would say that it is a brilliant toy which I am sure will give a lot of fun for several years to come.

Brilliant toy - my 4-y-o grandson agrees. One piece missing, one duplicated, but PlayMobil UK helpline quickly sorted that out. Warning; Box says allow 2 hours for assembly!! I am an engineer - make that 5 hours (of great fun and satisfaction). Instructions are very clear - there are just so many pieces. Included poster shows completed hospital and layout of pieces - to a 4-y-o that has to be followed EXACTLY! Reverse of poster shows other toys in the range which which, according to my 4-y-o MUST also be acquired!!!
